They say the opening scene sets the tone for the entire night. Well, last Saturday (Nov 30th), Steve and Emily didn’t just set the tone—they exploded it.

Kicking off our showcase with a scene from Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, they brought such raw power and strong character work that the whole room went quiet. You could feel the audience (all 50+ of them, including agents and producers!) leaning in, completely captivated.

It takes guts to go first. It takes talent to go first and steal the air out of the room. Steve, Emily—you were electric.

John Patrick Shanley (who wrote the play) said, “Theatre is a safe place to do unsafe things.” You two went to the unsafe places, and it was beautiful to watch.
