There are moments in acting classes where you forget you are watching a scene, and you start wondering if you should call the police.
Saturday 30.11., Steve and Emily took us to that dangerous place with their scene from Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.
When Steve started that confession… the whole room froze. He wasn’t just “acting” angry. He took us through the whole brutal night. The demand for $20. The fight with the drunk guy. The sound of something “breaking” in his chest.
And then… throwing him over a fence into a driveway while people watched? Steve, the way you described that violence—the “stomp,” the “kick,” and the terrifying uncertainty of “I don’t know if I killed him”—was absolutely chilling.
And Emily. To sit across from that energy and hold your ground? To listen to a man confess a potential murder and stay in the moment? That is fearless acting.
