Actors don’t grow by playing it safe. We grow by falling flat on our faces, forgetting a line, missing a cue, or making a bold choice that doesn’t land. And that’s okay. In fact — it’s necessary.
Failure isn’t the opposite of success. It’s the pathway to it. Every mistake on stage or in class is a stepping stone to discovering something new: a deeper truth, a braver choice, a stronger connection.
Think about it — if you never fail, you never risk. And if you never risk, you’ll never truly surprise yourself or your audience.
So the next time you “fail,” celebrate it. That’s proof you dared. Proof you stretched. Proof you’re alive in the work.
