Last night in the Advanced Acting Techniques Course, I was reminded of something important:
Sometimes I have to trust my feelings, too.
I had a full Viewpoints class prepared β€” three hours of intense physical work, movement, and ensemble exercises.
But the whole day, something felt off.
Physical exercise didn’t help.
Meditation didn’t help.
Breathing exercises didn’t help.
My body and heart were telling me:
β€œNot today.”
So I listened.
I trusted my feelings.
And I changed the class.
Instead, we moved into scene work β€” the students chose their own scenes, followed their impulses, and created a powerful, connected, and meaningful session together.
And you know what?
It turned into one of the most successful and empowering classes we’ve had in a while.
I always try to give my best to my students.
But the only way I can truly do that is by being honest, present, and true to myself first.
Last night was a beautiful reminder:
When we trust our inner voice, the work becomes deeper, braver, and more human. ❀️
